On the Prowel

This weekend was a series of solo misions around the valley and the hills around it that make it a valley. Some of the images contained here are from other places and times but were either forgotten and burried in the bowels of my hard drive and sights I saw brought them back to mind and inspired a journey to find them.

Sitting in the valley today listening to a forecast calling for 3"-6" of fluffy wetness while I sift through photos from 3 days ago which look as if taken months ago as temps crept up near 70 degrees as a gaggle of us ventured up to to Short Mtn for a day or blood shed on the rocks. By the time all was said and done, I dont think there was a one in the group who didnt have a spot of red on them for the rock sweated just enough to release the traction at that threshold moment where one throws the bike over a hole in the rocks or when spooling up over a steep rocky spine. It was great to have that little window here in Winter's Doldrums to remind us that the doom and gloom will one day yield way to sunny beach party bliss once again.

Winter is Upon Us

With the holidays behind us and me spending the last week of last year and the first week of this nursing a deeply bruised quad and many of the high elevation trails resting beneath several inches of frozen corn, i think its safe to say we have officially entered the winter slum. This weekend I decided some ChiMed loosened my leg enough to get and try and do a bit of trail riding after the opening of some of my photos at Larkin Arts on Friday night which was a hoot. Saturday a few of us decided to tag along on Scud's Cat Furnace ride, then Sunday held some slushy Signal Knob fun for Collin, Tim and myself. Enough with the words. Lets allow the photos to tell the rest of the story.
